Trustfolio Ltd, the debt-tech™ collective behind the new Creditor Debt Solutions Platform now being adopted by Local Authorities and the well-established Debt Adviser Support Portal, backed by AdviceuK, has released episode 3 of its new podcast exploring how digitsation is changing the consumer debt sector.

The third episode is available now featuring special guest Steve Coppard, Director of Debt Policy and Strategy at advisory firm to the collections and revenue sector, Arum. Some of you may remember Steve from his previous role as Deputy Director of the Cabinet Office’s Debt Management function.

Podcast co-host Trustfolio’s Lee Usher, who has worked across the credit and debt advice landscape for both private sector companies and Government, says:
“This month’s guest had a few hard acts to follow from our first couple of episodes of our new podcast but Steve rises to the challenge with a great discussion about all things debt in 2022, including the adoption of digital solutions. From him coining the phrase to ‘getting people out of debt instead of getting debt out of people’ to how Government and the wider sector’s strategy has developed and transformed since he started working in the field, we discuss everything leading up to his new role back ‘at the coal face’ and bringing about positive change in the collections sector.”

Co-host Trustfolio’s Peter Wallwork, former Chief Executive of Credit Services Association (CSA), the UK trade body for the debt collection sector, adds:
“Steve is a well respected figure across the sector with a laser focus on fair outcomes for all (it’s even his LinkedIn headline!) so we were really pleased to have him on the podcast to get his take on topical issues like investment in new tech and the Statutory Debt Repayment Plan (SDRP) from the ‘other side of the fence’ in his new role outside of Government.”

Each episode of the Trustfolio debt-tech podcast, which has previously featured Craig Simmons of Money & Pensions Service and James Jones of Experian, gives professionals working in the credit, collections, advice, enforcement, and other related sectors, the opportunity to hear industry influencers discuss and debate the pros and cons of utilising the latest fintech to support consumers-in-debt.
